Marsh is saddened to confirm the passing of three staff members following the 22 February Christchurch earthquake. Carey Bird, Melanie Brown and Barry Craig were working from the Marsh office in the Pyne Gould Corporation building when it collapsed. Their bodies have now been officially identified by the authorities in New Zealand.
John Clayton, Pacific Region Head of Marsh, said the colleagues of Marsh join with the family and friends of Carey, Melanie and Barry in mourning their death.
“This is a very sad time for Marsh. Many people are hurting in the wake of what is a huge loss. Our deepest sympathies go out to those loved ones and close companions of our colleagues who have passed away,” said Mr Clayton.
All other employees of Marsh who were in Christchurch at the time of the earthquake are safe and accounted for.
“My fellow colleagues in Christchurch have shown remarkable resilience, strength and courage during this extremely difficult time. We will all continue to work together to support each other and rebuild,” said Mr Clayton.
