Client alert: Transfer of insurance business from American Home Assurance Company
Published: 06-Jan- 2011 | Comments: 0

From March 2011, the insurance business carried out by the Australian branch of the American Home Assurance Company (AHAC), trading as Chartis, will be transferred to Chartis Australian Insurance Limited (CAIL). CAIL is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the global Chartis group and will be the Chartis general insurer in Australia.
The Australian Prudential and Regulatory Authority (APRA) has authorised CAIL to conduct general insurance business in Australia, and CAIL will be subject to APRA’s capital and other prudential requirements.
The Marsh Market Information Group is now undertaking analysis and review to ensure that CAIL meets Marsh’s market security guidelines. The outcome of the review will be made available on the Marsh Market Information website.
