Australian Expatriates

Apart from the need for medical cover whilst on overseas assignment, Australian expatriates may also encounter issues relating to Australian health legislation, which may include Medicare, Medicare Levy Surcharge, and portability of cover. This may affect employees on either temporary or permanent return to Australia.

Marsh can offer solutions to address these issues, some which may require a supplementary policy.

Non Resident (Inpatriate)

If you are entering Australia via a 457 visa, the most common type of working visa, you are required to take out compliant health insurance policy for the duration of your stay in Australia.

Marsh has access to various policy options through a number of insurers in both the domestic and general insurance sectors and can arrange specifically designed compliant cover. Cover arranged with insurers outside Australia will often not be compliant and may prejudice your visa application.

We can also organise health cover for other working visa holders.
